Oregon Mountains

The Oregon Trails are located in Las Cruces, New Mexico, just about 5 miles away from New Mexico State University. These trails are very common for athletes of all sorts, and ones that hold a special place in my heart. Throughout my collegiate career, I was running in this area at least once a week. NMSU’s Army ROTC Program was very notorious for running in this area early in the morning, shouting cadence and waking up the neighborhood in the surrounding area.

I found myself one morning wanting to go for a small hike after it had rained the night before. Thinking that the probability of being able to get a couple of good pictures was low, I figured there was no harm in bringing my camera just in case. About 30 minutes into the hike, I was able to get a really good view of the Oregon Mountains, which led to this shot! After setting up, getting comfortable, and waiting for the fog to get just right, this was the result!
